Meet Our Director, Dr. Mark A. Erlich

Dr. Erlich is proud of his many achievements that span a quarter-century as a plastic surgeon. Most recently, he is honored to announce his 6,000th rhinoplasty surgery.

New York Plastic Surgeon Dr. ErlichDr. Erlich is the founder and director of Profiles & Contours - The New York Center for Plastic Surgery, with locations in New York City and Connecticut. He is on the medical staff of Mount Sinai Hospital, the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, and the Long Island College Hospital. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Erlich is Clinical Assistant Professor at New York Medical College, Clinical Assistant Professor at Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine, Clinical Instructor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and president of the New York Facial Plastic Surgery Society. Dr. Erlich is very actively involved in the training of medical students, surgical residents, and practicing plastic surgeons.

Dr. Erlich was born and educated in New York City. He attended the City College of New York, graduating with high honors in 1972. He was a member of the scholastic honor society, won special honors for biological research, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Erlich attended Medical School at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and trained in General Surgery at the Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center.

His medical school training was followed by a year of clinical research and a fellowship in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Erlich received three additional years of specialty training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Erlich has achieved specialty board certification from the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Board of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.

Currently, Dr. Erlich is a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the European Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Cosmetic Surgery, the International Society of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society of Liposuction Surgery, the American Medical Association, the International College of Surgeons, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Rhinologic Society, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and a Fellow of the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Dr. Erlich is one of the first physicians to recognize the value of computerized imaging in the field of plastic surgery and helped pioneer its use in facial plastic surgery. Dr. Erlich has also been recognized for using special botanical and homeopathic compounds to help expedite post-surgical healing.

Having performed thousands of operations in the past twenty one years, Dr. Mark Erlich is an acknowledged authority in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has lectured widely in the U.S. and Europe, and has been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers as well as appearing on radio and television in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Dr. Erlich has served as a consultant to the Malpractice Panel of the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
