New York Facial Contouring & Slimming

While the classical standard of beauty is the triangular, tapered and geometrically angular face, many people find themselves with a rounded, full or "chubby-cheek" facial shape.

This fuller face is often caused by excess fat deep within the cheeks in an area called the buccal space. Our patients have several options to create a slimmer facial contour.

AccuLift™ Face Lift

This convenient, less invasive alternative to traditional face lift surgery provides immediate results. AccuLift is performed using the AccuSculpt™ laser liposuction device. Your surgeon carefully removes areas of fat on the face, including the cheeks, jowl line, and neck, to sculpt a tightened and more youthful appearance. Many people find that facial fat is causing their skin to sag, giving them an older complexion that can be restored with this procedure.

The use of laser energy allows for carefully targeted fat removal. The procedure requires only local anesthesia for most patients and can be completed in less than 60 minutes. Unlike fillers and other medical spa procedures, AccuLift only needs to be performed one time for satisfying results.

Downtime following AccuLift is minimal. Your doctor will tell you more about the procedure and aftercare during your consultation. If you have been bothered by "chubby" cheeks or have noticed that your face has begun to droop, this procedure can provide lasting rejuvenation.

Buccal Fat Extraction

Buccal fat extraction can accomplish a permanently slimmer appearance.

This procedure is performed in our surgery center on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with mild sedation. The procedure takes about thirty minutes and is done from inside the mouth, so there are never any visible incisions. While it is likely your surgery will be performed at our New York plastic surgery facilities, if it is more convenient, you can schedule your initial consultation and after care appointments at our Connecticut plastic surgery center.

Inside each cheek, a tiny incision is made, through which the buccal fat pad — about the size of a small egg yolk — can be gently removed. Then we close these incision with one dissolvable stitch.

Usually there is slight post-operative swelling and no bruising, so the average patient can return to work in one or two days. While some difference is seen immediately, it may take up to three months for a final result to emerge. The finished result is a subtle but very attractive difference that resembles the changes of moderate weight loss — but only where you want it.
